Visitor Centre Opens At Pannonhalma Archabbey
Budapest, July 10 (MTI) – Janos Lazar, head of the Prime Minister’s Office, attended the inauguration of a new visitor centre to the Archabbey of Pannonhalma in western Hungary today.
In his address to the ceremony, Lazar spoke highly of the role of the largest churches in building communities, and pledged further government assistance to those efforts from a total 7,000 billion forints in European Union funding allocated to Hungary in the next seven-year financial period. The government will work to reduce the administrative cost of development projects from the maximum 3 percent to 0.9 percent and use the balance for the purpose, Lazar said.
The visitor centre consists of an exhibition hall, museum, areas for community purposes and a cafe, set up in a renovated old annex to the Abbey.
